Corrections Health Care Online Referral System

Correctional Health Partners has created a web-based portal, Managed Care System – Online Referrals (MCS), allowing providers to request referrals online directly from our Prior Authorization Department. MCS allows providers to submit complete clinical patient information in a HIPAA-compliant, secure environment. With this system, the correctional healthcare medical providers can also check the status of current requests and look up the history of referrals or prior authorizations for their patients.

Once requests are submitted through MCS, the information goes directly to our in-house care management software, ThinkHealth. We use ThinkHealth for outpatient and inpatient utilization, case management authorization tracking, and care management documentation. This program allows for both our internal and on-site nursing and social work care managers to coordinate their efforts and disseminate information in a timely manner, which helps us to increase the continuity of prison healthcare and reduce the costs for our clients.
