Third Party Administration and Claims Management
The Correctional Health Partners’ Claims Department is an integral part of the daily workflow between CHP, the correctional healthcare providers, and our correctional system clients. The Claims Department works diligently to make sure all claims are filed and paid to the providers properly, accurately, and promptly – essentially the “checks and balances” for all of our providers. By verifying prior authorizations, confirming eligibility, and entering all codes and claims properly, we are able to assure only the authorized healthcare was delivered and billed, thereby being good stewards of scarce public resources. The Claims Department also provides customer service and support to the providers in our network.
The Claims Department handles the following aspects of the claims process for our clients:
- Receiving paper claims, including retrieving, sorting, scanning, and inventory control
- Loading electronic claims
- Submitting claims reporting to both our clients and providers
- Verification and resolution of pended claims, including eligibility, authorizations, high dollar, and non-contacted
- Handling of appeals and grievances
- Adjustment of claims when indicated
- Providing customer/provider service, including claims status and denials
- Providing payment and denial notification to providers
- Submission of fee schedule updates into the claims system
- Reconciliation/reversal process for providers
