Meeting the Challenges
of Correctional Healthcare.

Correctional Health Partners (CHP) is a clinically enhanced third party administrator (TPA). We perform the essential TPA functions competently and effectively, using evidence-based clinical approaches and quality improvement techniques to directly manage high-cost, high-risk medical issues. We have successfully implemented cost-containment and medical management systems in correctional settings. These proven strategies increase efficiency, manage costs associated with the delivery of prison healthcare, and promote the collaborative relationships necessary to provide the highest quality and cost-effective services. We measure our success through our ability to develop solutions to client problems.

As a company, Correctional Health Partners takes great interest in the special issues involved in delivering care to incarcerated individuals in the corrections system. We focus on creating strong working relationships with our corrections partners, as well as collaborations with specialty and preferred hospital providers that share our interest in and understanding of the unique needs of correctional healthcare. The primary care provider (PCP) is the foundation of the care model used by CHP. Based at each of the correctional facilities, the primary care providers have the training to deliver a broad spectrum of care, and are in the best position to know each offender’s medical history and needs.

We recognize that offenders are constitutionally entitled to the community standard of care, and we are committed to ensuring they receive that care in a competent and compassionate manner. We also fully understand the unique circumstances in the correctional environment and have developed expertise and partnerships to apply the community standard to the correctional environment. In doing this, we embrace the needs of our clients to mitigate government risk in meeting these legal requirements, but also to make the best use of scarce taxpayer funds in providing quality medical care.
